This badly fitted section of flooring caused a leak in the Rathmines area which went undiscovered for months. Such leaks are caused by badly fitted pipework which over time erode due to expansion and contraction over the years.

This section of qualpex pipe was fitted on a system in the Celbridge area, however the original plumber never fitted a safety valve. When the boiler thermostat failed it resulted in a catastrophic failure of the pipework resulting in boiling water coming from the ceiling, luckily there were no injuries. Safety valves should always be fitted as close to the boiler as possible.
